2010 "Dragon Boat Festival" Celebration Reception
The Celebration of the Chinese Cultural Event "Dragon Boat Festival" and introduction of the Calgary Dragon Boat Society Directors and Advisors in Calgary, was held at the Regency Palace Restaurant located on the 3rd Floor of the Dragon City Mall, in heart of Chinatown. Over 100 people from the Chinatown Community and Dragon Boat Community attended the reception.

About the Dragon Boat Festival Performers:
Wendy Chin

A mother of three, Wendy received her Chinese zither training in Hong Kong and China. She came to Canada in 1980 and has since lived in various parts of Canada and China before settling in Calgary about 10 years ago.
She has been teaching Chinese zither in Calgary for the last 6 years. She is a frequent performer in different functions including the Globalfest, Dragon Boat festivals, mid-Autumn festival s, Chinese New Year and other celebrations. She also performs in various fundraising and charity events like Kung Fu and Musical Spectacular, church activities and other private functions.
Tina Hong


Tina Hong was born in China, and moved to Calgary 8 years ago. After she came to Calgary, she graduated from Mount Royal University Personal Fitness Trainer program, and has current Zumba for adults and Zumbatomic for kids certifications. She also has a Dance diploma and operating her own dance studio for 6 years.
Combined with her more than 15 years performing and teaching experience in Chinese traditional dance, you'll be guided by Tina in a professional manner to integrate physical healthy activity into your daily routine, also to learn flexibility, agility, coordination, grace and rhythm. With Tina's help, you'll meet your fitness goals and find your healthy lifestyle at your ease. Not only that, if you can join Tina’s Zumba class and dance classes, you will feel the classes are absolutely enjoyable. She believes in “if there is a will, there is a way.”
