About Us

The Calgary Chinese Merchant Association (CCMA) was originally founded in 1991 as a non-profit association under the english name, Calgary Chinatown Merchant Association.  The volunteer Board of Directors deal with the various issues that effect the Chinese Merchant business community of Calgary, Alberta Canada.  In April 2007, the current Board of Directors changed the association name to Calgary Chinese Merchant Association (CCMA) to better reflect the translation from Chinese to English.

 

CCMA Mission Statement

Working to enhance the economic and urban development of the Chinese Community through promotion, marketing, and communication.

 

CCMA Objectives:

• Contribute to the on going growth and development of Chinatown through effective identification and implementation of (key) opportunities, resources, and innovative solutions.
• Educate and create awareness of/on current petinent issues through countinuous connections and network with mainstream.
• Represent and liaise between/with the City of Calgary and other sectors of government on all issues related to and affecting our community.
• Effective partnership with other non-profit community association, organizations to achieve common goals.
• Ensure measures towards the overall health, promotion, beautification, condition, rights, and interestes of Chinatown and its community.
• Foster the growth and development of future community leaders.
