The Calgary Chinese Elderly Citizens Association (CCECA) presented an open lecture class about Chinese Literature on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the classroom on the 2nd floor of the association building. It was also a cost free class to those people who were interested to know more about the traditional Chinese literature.

The lecturer Mrs. Spring Liu was speaking in Mandarin and the topic in this lecture was “The Hermit Culture in Ancient China”. She pointed out that the cultural and political backgrounds were the main roles, which allowed those hermits to be formed up. She also stated that the hermit culture is not only in China, the western societies also have hermits, and they still exist elsewhere in the world, either today or in the future.
