Lieutenant Governor of Alberta attended the 2009 Kung Fu and Music Fusion

The fundraiser for the Calgary Wing Kei Care Centre – 2009 Kung Fu and Music Fusion-- was held on last Saturday (September 26) at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. The audience enjoyed the fantastic performances that evening. According to the M.C. Anissa Wong said, it was a full house.

The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, His Honour Norman L. Kwong and his wife, Her Honour Mary Kwong –was one of the Honourary Patrons of the event. They were accompanied by another Honourary Patron Mrs. Stella Hon, the event chairmen Ed Tam and Brian Lee, event advisors included the Deputy Speaker of Legislature of Alberta and MLA Wayne Cao, Past Chairman Danny C.P. Ng, and Don Jung, the Chairman of Wing Kei Foundation. V.I.P. who attended the show included the City aldermen Gord Lowe and Jim Stevenson, the event sponsors, community leaders and representatives.

Kung Fu and Music Fusion was produced entirely by Albertans. According to the administrator of the event Kathleen Ng said, it was involved over 500 volunteers. Which included 9 martial arts school students, 15 amateur singers, 6 martial arts school sifu(grand master/chief instructor), 2 dragon teams, 20 lion teams, 3 dance schools, 1 dance team, 1 band, numerous volunteers in the production committee(on the front and back stage), the security and organizing committee, to make this local charitable show a delightful presentation.

As the co-chair of the event Brian Lee said on his speech, the main beneficiary of the fundraiser, is completely for those senior residents in Wing Kei Care Centre.
