Since the typhoon Morakot struck Taiwan, destroyed few isolated villages in the southern area, and killed lots of people and left many homeless on August 8, 2009, the Calgary Chinese community kept continuing to organize the fundraising activities to help those victims to re-build their homes.

On Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Dragon City Mall in Chinatown, the Chinese Freemasons Group organized a fundraising event for those Taiwanese. This was starting from 11 am to 4 pm.
