Taiwan's 88 Typhoon Fundraising had collected over $5,000

After the typhoon Morakot hit Taiwan, and killed lots of people and many victims on August 8, 2009.  The Calgary Chinese community organized a fundraiser to raise money for those victims in isolated villages in Southern Taiwan.  

The leading fundraising organizations, Calgary Reaches Out, Calgary Tsung Tsin Benevolent Association, Calgary Chinese Community Service Association and Taiwan Students Association got together with a number of people in the Chinese Community, has held an event on Sunday, August 30 at the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, which was starting from 12 noon to 5 pm.

In the campaign, they were featuring the multicultural programs such as cultural dances, singing performances and etc. After the event, the total amount collected was $5,281.51.
